Potential flow analysis method around objects where the viscous effects are neglected is widely used and still being used in computational fluid dynamics problems even though this method does not lead to an exact solution. In preliminary design stages and in optimization problems, potential flow method is much more usable than the finite volume methods due to its rapid mesh generation and solution abilities.
By taking these advantages into account, MESH engineers developed software working with panel method to investigate and optimize the flow and wave resistance characteristics around submerged or floating marine structures by potential flow theory./p>
